My Name is Carl Chaney. I live in the Dallas-FT. Worth area and I am very concerned. There seems to be a tug of war going on right now for control of our minds, our lives and our very existence and the general populace seems oblivious. We are truly a country on the edge. Will we be able to hold and be the nation that has been a beacon for so many for almost two and a half centuries? Or will we topple over the edge into totalitarianism and chaos? Is America destined to disappear from the face of the Earth? Possibly, but I don’t feel that it has to be that way. For most of my life, I have been in search of the truth. Much of this time I did not even realize that was what I was doing. It all began with questions. I questioned authority, I questioned my family and I questioned God. When I did not get the answers that I wanted, I rejected them all. That left a void in me. A void that I reflexively sought to fill with all the wrong things. But happiness always eluded me. I began to look around and saw much of the same. I could not escape the nagging feeling that there was something missing. Life should be so much more. As I grew older, I began to look more inward. I began to ponder the questions that I had for so long. I realized that the reason that I didn’t like the answers was because they had little to do with truth. Many times, it seemed that any truth in the answers go lost in the agenda. I don’t know when this all started, but it seems that whenever a question is asked, it is answered in such a way as to benefit an agenda. It could be a conservative agenda, a liberal one, or even a communist one. Depending upon the question, it could be any number of agendas, political, religious, commercial or even personal. So where do we find the truth? I believe that it is all around us. Sometimes it takes quite a lot of work to find, but it is there. The first step is being honest with yourself. This part is much harder than one might expect. There are some agendas out there that you might actually agree with. This is OK, we are all human and we all have our beliefs and opinions. But we must be consistent and recognize the agendas that we agree with as well as the ones we don’t. Then and only then, can we find that nugget, that bright shining gem of the truth.
