Worth area and I am very concerned.\u00a0 There seems to be a tug of war going on right now for control of our minds, our lives and our very existence and the general populace seems oblivious.\u00a0 We are truly a country on the edge.\u00a0 Will we be able to hold and be the nation that has been a beacon for so many for almost two and a half centuries?\u00a0 Or will we topple over the edge into totalitarianism and chaos?\u00a0 Is America destined to disappear from the face of the Earth?\u00a0 Possibly,\u00a0 but I don&#8217;t feel that it has to be that way.\u00a0 For most of my life, I have been in search of the truth.\u00a0 Much of this time I did not even realize that was what I was doing.\u00a0 It all began with questions.\u00a0 I questioned authority, I questioned my family and I questioned God.\u00a0 When I did not get the answers that I wanted, I rejected them all.\u00a0 That left a void in me.\u00a0 A void that I reflexively sought to fill with all the wrong things.\u00a0 But happiness always eluded me.\u00a0 I began to look around and saw much of the same.\u00a0 I could not escape the nagging feeling that there was something missing.\u00a0 Life should be so much more.\u00a0 As I grew older, I began to look more inward.\u00a0 I began to ponder the questions that I had for so long.\u00a0 I realized that the reason that I didn&#8217;t like the answers was because they had\u00a0 little to do with truth.\u00a0 Many times, it seemed that any truth in the answers go lost in the agenda.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know when this all started, but it seems that whenever a question is asked, it is answered in such a way as to benefit an agenda.\u00a0 It could be a conservative agenda, a liberal one, or even a communist one.\u00a0 Depending upon the question, it could be any number of agendas, political, religious, commercial or even personal.\u00a0 So where do we find the truth?\u00a0 I believe that it is all around us.\u00a0 Sometimes it takes quite a lot of work to find, but it is there.\u00a0 The first step is being honest with yourself. \u00a0 This part is much harder than one might expect.\u00a0 There are some agendas out there that you might actually agree with.\u00a0 This is OK, we are all human and we all have our beliefs and opinions.\u00a0 But we must be consistent and recognize the agendas that we agree with as well as the ones we don&#8217;t.\u00a0 Then and only then, can we find that nugget, that bright shining gem of the truth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Name is Carl Chaney.\u00a0 I live in the Dallas-FT.
